Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned:  Azure, a winged lion rampant Or grasping a lightning bolt Tenn.  Attached above the shield a Blue scroll inscribed "POISED" and attached below and at either side a Blue scroll inscribed "TO STRIKE" all in Gold letters.

Symbolism
Ultramarine blue and golden orange are the colors associated with the Aviation units.  The orange lightning bolt represents attack capabilities, swiftness and accuracy.  The winged lion is symbolic of the unit's strength, courage and determination and together with the lightning bolt underscore the unit's motto.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 28 April 1989.

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Missouri Army National Guard:  On a wreath of the colors Or and Azure a grizzly bear standing rampant Proper.

Background
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 135th Aviation Regiment on 28 April 1989.  It was amended to delete the crests of Kentucky, Kansas and Colorado Army National Guard on 28 January 2005.
